Abstract technical background

SSH tip I don’t want to forget: connect to servers without needing a password each time.

Steps

From source server, create ssh key

ssh-keygen

From destination server, create .ssh folder if not exist

mkdir .ssh

From source server, send id rsa pub

scp /home/user/.ssh/id_rsa.pub user_dest@ip_dest:~/.ssh

From destination server, rename id rsa to authorized_keys

mv .ssh/id_rsa.pub .ssh/authorized_keys

Config file

chmod 700 .ssh

chmod 600 .ssh/authorized_keys
